Bio
Iván Pérez-Rosselló is an architect, artist, and educator whose multifaceted career spans over two decades of exceptional contributions to architecture and design. A licensed architect in Texas and certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board, Pérez-Rosselló has earned a reputation for his innovative and artistic approach to Corporate, Retail, and Hospitality design.
Born and raised in San Juan Puerto Rico, Pérez-Rosselló holds degrees from Cornell University and Harvard University. He was awarded the Silver Charles Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal and the Union of International Architects student award for the redesign of downtown Beirut. His architectural practice is characterized by a strong emphasis on collaboration with clients, resulting in spaces that are not only visually stunning but also functional, sustainable, and reflective of their unique brand and culture.
Pérez-Rosselló's design philosophy is anchored in the belief that architecture transcends the functional to become an art form in its own right. This philosophy is evident in his numerous award-winning projects, which have garnered him peer recognition and a highly sought-after status within the industry. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Pérez-Rosselló has been a dedicated educator, imparting his knowledge and passion for design at several esteemed institutions.
Beyond his architectural practice, Pérez-Rosselló is an accomplished artist with a deep affinity for the natural world. His artistic journey was catalyzed by a self-guided pilgrimage to Marfa, Texas, in 2002, where he encountered the work of Donald Judd and the Chinati Foundation. The experience left an indelible impression on the artist and inspired him to explore the intersection of architecture and art.
Pérez-Rosselló's artistic oeuvre includes the series "Cielo y Tierra: Memory of the Sky and Earth," a collection of paintings that capture the essence of the West Texas landscape. Through his art, Pérez-Rosselló seeks to reconcile his tropical roots with the distinct beauty of West Texas, resulting in works that are imbued with a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural world.
In his series "Nostalgia Tropical," Pérez-Rosselló returns to his tropical origins, employing a symbolic and expressive style to depict his youth's lush and vibrant landscapes. Whether exploring the arid beauty of West Texas or the lush tropics, Pérez-Rosselló's work is a testament to the harmonious interplay between the built environment and the natural world.
